Mud Bars
cooking recipe ingredients :
one cup and two T. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
one tsp. vanilla
one egg
1-12oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
1/2 cup chopped nuts
how to cook :
Preheat oven to 375. In bowl merge flour, baking soda, and salt then set aside. In bowl, beat brow sugar, butter, and vanilla until creamy, add egg, beat well. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in one 1/3 cup chocolate chips and nuts. Spread in to foil lined 9" square baking pan. Bake 23-25 minutes.
Immediately after removing from oven sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. When chips are shiny, spread evenly with back of spoon. When chilled, chill 5-10 minutes to set chocolate. Cut in to 2"x1" bars.
